Abstract

Russian Russian scribes, despite difficult social and political circum­stances, created outstanding monuments of bookishness in the XIII century, testifying to the high spirituality of the Russian people. In this article, based on handwritten materials, the author shows that Russian scribes, despite difficult social and political circumstances, created outstanding monuments of bookishness in the XIII century. The Old Russian literature at this time not only did not cease to exist, but continued to develop, and moreover, went its own, original way. At this time, a large number of famous monuments of writing were written, distinguished by highly spiritual content.
