The article considers an expert method for assessing the quality of translation from theological, psychological, axiological and epistemological positions. The expert method refers to qualimetric methods for assessing the quality of translations, and previously it was considered in one way or another in connection with axiology, epistemology and partially with some aspects of psychology. However, the theological basis has not been summarized under the available research before, although it is theology that allows a more complete look at the main problems of the expert method, in particular, the positive influence of ascetic work on the psychological state of a person, on increasing the objectivity of the results obtained, has been revealed. The correlation of the expert method with axiology allowed us to consider it through the categories of personal and social meaning of values, and drawing parallels with the stages of the psychological act of evaluation additionally emphasized the degree of possible influence of personal and social values on the final assessment of the biblical translation.
