Names of types of orthodox monasteries, borrowed into Russian from Greek

Abstract

In the proposed article, along with the main name of the monastic monastery, the word monastery, other Greek borrowings will be presented, denoting some varieties of monasteries and their constituent parts (ascitiri, idiorhythm, hesychastiri, kaliva, kafism, cell, cell, kinovia, lavra, skete). The analysis of this group of vocabulary is carried out in the linguistic aspect, taking into account modern materials. The origin of these words, phonetic design, word-formation features, as well as the development of their semantics in the history of the Russian language are considered, taking into account individual data concerning intermediary languages.
