Position of archbishop Nikon (Rozhdestvensky) in Imiaslavie’s disputes

Abstract

The article examines the position taken by Archbishop Nikon (Rozhdestvensky) in the disputes about the name of God, classifi es and analyzes the main points of his critical attitude to imiaslavie, in particular, questions about the canonical side of the discussion of the dogmas of the Church and the condemnation of heretics, about the name of God in theology, in prayer, in the sacraments of the Church, on the relationship between spiritual experience and theology, on the concepts of grace, the energy of God in connection with the names of God.
