Abstract

This article has been arranged as a part of master’s thesis on the passion of selflove and its curing according to the doctrine of St. Maximus the Confessor. A review of the ancient philosophical, biblical and patristic traditions that preceded the writings of the Confessor on this question is off ered. The results are discussed and ways of further development of the topic in scientifi c as well as in practical aspects are suggested.
