Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the concept behind the term διάκρισις in the teachings of Diadochus, Bishop of Photike. Modern research considering Diadochus’ teachings about διάκρισις speak mainly about discernment of visions and dreams. We will show that the list of objects of discernment is not limited to this, but also includes thoughts and consolations (παράκλησις).
