Abstract

This article gives an account of life and work of Sergey Mikhailovich Zarin (1875–1935), Professor of Saint Petersburg Theological Academy, as well as his scientific contacts with such figures in theology as Fr. Pavel Florensky and N. N. Glubokovsky. Besides, the article addresses S. M. Zarin’s views on asceticism, biblical criticism, apologetics, ecclesial education as well as its transition into the Renovationist schism.
