Abstract

The article provides an overview and analysis of lectures on the “religiosistic” (science of religion) of St. Innocent (Borisov) during his rector’s period at the Kiev Theological Academy. The study examines the teaching of St. Innocent about the connection between religion and human nature, on the participation of inner feeling and mind in the knowledge of God, about the connection between reason and atheism, about the immortality of the soul, about the insufficiency of natural religion and the need for a supernatural divine Revelation, its signs and criteria. The article also shows the attitude of Saint Innocent towards the most famous philosophers and their teachings.
