The Criterion of Truth in Solving Doctrinal Issues and their Dependence on the Teaching of Tradition

Abstract

The article compares the Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant ideas about the central criteria of doctrinal truth, and also clarifies how the difference between these criteria depends on the understanding of the nature of the Holy Tradition. As a result of the comparison, the question of actual criteria in Orthodoxy is problematized.
