Abstract

The article is the first part of the historical and philosophical research of the late professor of the RPU and MDA A. T. Kazaryan (1944–2019). This part provides an overview of the first translations of Plato’s works into Russian; the reviews of contemporaries on these translations are given; the scientific and literary works of Russian authors who were engaged in understanding the philosophical heritage of Plato and the formation of the problems of the «Russian Plato» are examined. It is planned to publish three more parts of this work by A. T. Kazaryan in subsequent issues of the journal «Diakrisis».
