Abstract

In the article, based on researching of references to the Ancient Holy Fathers of the Church in the published works of archbishop Nikon (Rozhdestvensky) analyzes the infl uence of reading patristic literature on his formation as a Christian, monk, bishop, zealot of Orthodoxy, Russian patriot, a Man of Church and State. The article also examines his contribution to the publication of patristic writings and analyzes the patristic thoughts, which he quotes in the context of the problems he touches upon in his journalistic legacy.
