Abstract

The article is devoted to a brief comparative analysis of the features of the study of esotericism in Western religious studies and the Orthodox tradition. The author considers the intellectual and academic concept of Western esotericism by A. Febvre and the characteristic features of the attitude of the Church of Christ to this phenomenon as a witness of the immutable truth and the victory of Life over death.
