Abstract

The article examines the student writings of St. Innocent (Borisov): on the goals of poetic creativity, “A Look at Greek Philosophy”, on signs of damage in human nature. The formation of the views of Archbishop Innocent, which was developed in his subsequent writings, is traced. Specially discussed is the question of the sources on the basis of which the saint’s attitude to philosophy was formed, in particular, to Plato, Aristotle, to the doctrine of the ideas of the mind, which was subsequently followed by both St. Innocent and his contemporaries, teachers of philosophy of
theological academies.
